I’m running my first-ever marathon on Saturday, and despite being scared, I’m also excited. I know that throughout the last 14 weeks I have put in a lot of work, and I have proven to myself that I can do this. I’m running in Asheville, and this race has 1,000 feet of gain and 1,200 feet of descent. I don’t think that helps my cause, but since there is a good amount of gain in this race, I’m keeping my expectations low. I will be happy if I finish this race no matter what.
